And still counting!Who said that we love only mass flicks crammed with hot babes, kuthu beats and gravity-defying stunts? We are one heck of a fun-loving crowd, and the proof is right here in the form of Goa and Tamil Padam. Both movies are running successfully in cinemas in spite of the arrival of mega movies such as Aasal plus Vinnaithaandi Varuvaaya. Unfazed by the competition from the biggies, these two fun movies continue to bring on the laughter.Tamil Padam, directed by debutant C.S. Amudhan and produced by Dhayanidhi Azhagiri's Cloud Nine Pictures, is a spoof on Kollywood stereotypes and formulae. While many expected the industry to kick up a row over the mocking scenes with dialogues, audiences continue to throng theatres to vicious circle the flick. The movie is well past the 50 day mark, yet audiences keep coming back for more!Goa, a typical Venkat Prabhu flick produced by Soundarya Rajinikanth which also released along with Tamil Padam, is also still going drawing crowds to theatres. The humour in the movie is a fine blend of spontaneity and creativity that has you laughing from start to end. Though the movie is not a spoof per se, it does make a few digs at certain themes that have been flogged to death in Tamil cinema.Let's hope we see more fun flicks such as these and that these continue the good work of putting smiles on people's faces for more weeks to come!
