Mohanlal wows jawans

It was a different knowledge for the officers in addition to jawans at the TA’s 122 Infantry Battalion of Madras Regiment in Kannur, when superstar Mohanlal, who was conferred the designation of Lieutenant Colonel (Honorary) after everything else year, arrived there on Thursday to undergo his post-commission training. Battalion Commandant Col. Davidson Kolath received Lt. Col. (Hon.) Mohanlal at the station. Other officers of the battalion were also present as were the jawans of the unit. The actor looked impressive in his olive green attire as he was taken in an open jeep from the entrance of the battalion station to the barracks.The performance by the music band of the battalion gave a ceremonial ambience to the event that marked his formal reception to the TA unit to which he was commissioned for undergoing the training.The reception ceremony also included a cultural programme attended by the jawans and their family members. The performer offered pooja at the place of worship inside the battalion station.Army sources revealed that the actor would be the centre of attraction of a public event being hosted by the civil administration to honour the battalion at the Municipal Jawahar Stadium in Kannur on March 27 evening. The battalion would also organise a number of events in which retired officers, junior commissioned officers, jawans along with civilian dignitaries would be present.In addition to the training programme, including weapons handling and firing, he would also be introduced to the duties along with tasks he is expected to perform as brand ambassador of the battalion, officials said.
