Vasanthabalan's Angadi Theru Releasing Today

Vasanthabalan, who made waves with his Veyyil, is back by means of his next business enterprise Angadi Theru which is releasing today. Angadi Theru has a congregation of new-fangled faces in the lead roles. “I had originally premeditated to make Angadi Theru as a quickie, excluding unfortunately, outstanding to convinced problems faced by the producers, it got delayed. I would not like to elaborate on it as the film has draw closer not at home really well,” the director said to a leading English daily.“The film tells the story of hundreds of ordinary people who are just out of their teens and who come to Chennai with many dreams but end up leading mechanical lives. I’m introducing a new hero Mahesh who is paired with Anjali of Kattradhu Thamizh fame, along with 400 newcomers, including director A Venkatesh and people like Pazhakarupandi. Popular writer Jayamohan has written the dialogues meant for the film, which also has Sneha in a cameo,” he added.From the title, one can infer that the story revolves around the happenings in a market place (Angadi Theru). Veyyil was much acclaimed by the critics and the public and went on to be screened in the prestigious Cannes Film Festival. Veyyil went on to bag the Best Regional Film award at the 54th National Awards in addition to won two Filmfare awards, including the Best Director for Vasanthabalan. We hope this venture of Vasanthabalan too lives up to the blazing standard set by Veyyil.
