Ilaiyaraaja Meeting

The 24th meeting of the ‘Ilaiyaraaja’ Yahoo group was held at the Oxford Hall, Ma Foi Academy in Chennai on February 28th. The group discussed the nuances of the music composed by the maestro in the year 2009. About 62 members of the group participated in the occurrence in which a few songs were sung by the members of the group. Some songs were played to the consultation in addition on the road to the fundamental environment of it was explained.The songs that were played designed for the audience were: Mella oorndhu – Nandhalala, Aadi Thiradhannil – Bhagya Devatha (Malayalam), Om Shivoham – Nannavanu (Kannada), Aa Shringaaraa – Prem Kahani (Kannada), Kizhakku Velukkudhu – Azhagarmalai, Neenga Annamalaikku – Ramana Saranam Saranam (Devotional), Maa Ganga – Naan Kadavul, Adimudiyindri – Ramana Saranam Saranam (Devotional), Aalamadangala – Pazhassi Raaja (Malayalam) and Ezhaikkindha – Maddhiya Chennai.The members of the assemblage sang Amma un pillai naan – Naan Kadavul – Raaga, Aliyaadhe – Chal Chalein (Hindi) – Raaga, Mudi mudi – Paa (Hindi) – Kashyap (keyboard), Hitchki Hitchki – Paa (Hindi) – Karthika Harini, Badavane – Prem Kahani (Kannada) – Raaga and Aathiyusha – Pazhassi Raaja (Malayalam) – Raaga.
Noted lyricist Kavignar Muthulingam in addition to Purushothaman one of Ilaiyaraaja’s musical commanders were the guests of admiration.Pooja Comes Back To Tamil Actress Pooja was a little disappointed when she did not get the national decoration for her brilliant presentation in ‘Naan Kadavul’. But is that the explanation why she is not seen in Tamil for long? No says Pooja. The reason for not accommodating Tamil films after ‘Naan Kadavul’ is because she had a few movies in Sinhala to be completed. Now she has done that and ready to accept Tamil projects. Pooja’s ‘Drohi’ is already finished and she is now listening to new story lines. She is unbending that she will accept films only with good stories. One story she liked is of the film to be directed by Seeman for the producer Thanu.It may be remembered that Pooja’s best performance in her career after ‘Naan Kadavul’ was in ‘Thambi’ directed by Seeman before.
